Be Canny and Keep fit with Canni-Cross!

cani cross

You may not have heard of it yet, but Canni-Cross is a fast growing sport among dog owners, both young and old.

What is it?
Cani-cross is a term meaning running your dog (any breed) as you run behind. If you are already running with your dogs you already do cani-cross!

It's a great way to keep fit with your dog, and strengthen the bond between dog and owner.

As the organisers state on their web site 'We cater for all shapes and sizes, any breed and all fitness levels — canine and human. Humans from the age of eleven and dogs from the age of one onwards can enter.

Previous events have included blind entrants running with a human guide and people who have had a triple heart by pass to marathon and ultra endurance athletes to kids, have-a-goes and those that just love to do things with their dogs.'

Burns are involved as major sponsors of the sport because we see the health advantages as well as the fun that can be had, so we've offered sponsorship and prizes by way of encouragement.

At all Cani-Cross UK events this season: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all 12 classes will receive a Burns certificate/voucher to claim a 7.5kg or 2kg bag of Burns Dog Food. This will allow the ownerto choose the right food for their dog's age/breed/diet.

Burns sample dog food and treats will be given to all.

Championship winner in each class will win a years supply of dog food (worth up to £420.00) for each class

You can find out more about Cani-Cross and how to participate by visiting their website
